HOW DO I SIGN-IN TO MY UNIREC ACCOUNT?

In the top right corner of every page, you will see the  UR LOGIN button.

USERNAME: the email address you used on sign up
DEFAULT PASSWORD: unireconcampus

Don’t forget to customise your password when you are logged in. With your UR account you can book an exercise consultation, YOGA and REV classes, change your details, renew your membership, book the squash courts, endless pools and more!


WHAT SHOULD I BRING ALONG TO UNIREC?

Remember to always bring your membership tag, a sweat towel and gym appropriate shoes. Having a towel is a must for any workout, perfect to put down when using benches and for wiping up sweat. Wearing closed toed shoes is essential for good safety and hygiene.


WILL SOMEONE HELP ME TO GET STARTED WHEN I ARRIVE?

Absolutely. Most memberships include an initial EXERCISE CONSULTATION with one of the team which will help you to get you started. This is a 60 minute one-on-one with a qualified trainer who can design you a training program based on your health and fitness goals and show you how to use different pieces of equipment along with proper form and technique.


HOW MUCH DOES A MEMBERSHIP COST?

We genuinely believe in making fitness accessible to everyone and so provide an array of flexible, great value membership options. We also offer discounted memberships to students, University of Waikato staff and seniors. Visit our MEMBERSHIPS page to find out more.


ONCE I’VE JOINED, WILL THERE BE ANY ADD-ON COSTS?

Every UniRec membership includes access to all facilities (including Squash Courts and the Sports hall) at no extra cost. All Group Exercise, REV Indoor Cycling and Yoga classes are also included in the cost of your membership. The only services you would pay extra for are specialist services such as Personal Training and Physiotherapy (but you do get a discount as a valued member).


WHERE CAN I PARK DURING MY WORKOUT?

Paid parking applies on the University of Waikato campus during the hours of 8.30am – 4.30pm, Monday – Friday. On-campus parking outside of these times is free.

For UniRec members, there are a number of marked carparks to use for up to 2 hours while you workout. Please remember to collect a parking permit from reception to display while you park.

CAN I POSTPONE MY MEMBERSHIP?

Memberships can be paused for a minimum of 14 days and a maximum of 30 days for 6 month contracts and 60 days for 12 month contracts. Flexi-term contracts are considered on a case by case basis. For full details see our MEMBERSHIP FREEZE FORM.

If you would like to place your membership on hold, simply fill out the form on the CONTACT US page (selecting ‘Memberships and Pricing’ as your enquiry type) and provide the start and end date you would like your membership on hold and a brief reason why (i.e. travel, medical).


HOW DO I BEGIN THE PROCESS OF CANCELLING MY MEMBERSHIP?

Cancelling a membership requires a formal request in writing. To begin this process you can fill out the form on the CONTACT US page (selecting ‘Cancellation enquiry’ as your enquiry type). Alternatively, you can email us at [email protected].


WHO CAN ATTEND WOMEN’S WEIGHTS SESSIONS?

Anyone that identifies as a female is welcome to take part in our Women’s Weights sessions that run in the evenings in the HP Room, Monday – Thursday. To ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable experience we ask that your personal information on our system reflects the gender you identify with. WHO CAN SIGN UP FOR A 7 DAY TRIAL?

Anyone 16 years or older that hasn’t been a member at UniRec in the last 24 months can make use of our 7 day free trials.


EXERCISE CLASSES

I HAVE NEVER DONE GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES BEFORE… CAN I SIMPLY COME ALONG?

Absolutely! Just show up 10 minutes early and introduce yourself to the instructor. They can help get you set up and let you know what to expect for the class.


DO I HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR CLASSES?

No. As a UniRec member, free access to all Group Exercise / Indoor Cycling and Yoga classes is included in your membership.


DO I HAVE TO BOOK FOR CLASSES?

No, there is no need to book for any of our classes. All you need to do is show up when the class is on.


SOME OF THE CLASSES LOOK LIKE FUN, BUT MY COORDINATION AND BALANCE ARE RUBBISH..

Some classes involve dance moves and require a little more coordination than others, but that doesn’t mean they’re out of bounds! Our class instructors will guide you through specific techniques. Focus on what you enjoy and try different classes until you find one that works for you.
