Elyse is an inspiring and enthusiastic individual with a deep love for sport and health. She invests her time into others, empowering newcomers in these areas, fostering confidence and guiding them to discover their passions. When she’s not in the gym or the rugby field Elyse enjoys coaching and sharing her expertise with others.

Tristan Ruha

Having played rugby sevens in high school, Tristan has since fallen in love with olympic lifting and overall sports performance. With a wide range of interests, including studying an Esports minor here at Waikato, Tristan is open to helping people in a range of different areas.

Fazeel Aqil

Crazy passionate about futsal and football, Fazeel’s interests are in sports performance and helping people improve their athleticism. He also understands the importance of good mobility and the balance of overall wellbeing.

As our High Performance Trainer, Josh has experience working with a number of national representatives in rowing, rugby, football, powerlifting, body building and more. He’s particularly interested in optimising clients’ potential through specialised programming.

PROGRAMMING:

Josh’s multi-stage programming is particularly useful for athletes as it can be tailored to their sport and customised to include testing, competition and recovery. It is comprehensive, long-term athletic development for anyone serious about their training, especially those at the elite level.

Wiremu Rickus

A keen sportsman with a strong interest in basketball, touch and rugby league, Wiremu has a passion for all things health and fitness. His motivation for his own physical wellbeing stems from being a positive example to his children.

Wiremu has a knack for getting the most out of his clients through improved mobility, helping them move correctly and effectively. He’s particularly interested in working with youth to achieve their sporting goals through strength and conditioning and sport specific workouts.

James Robertson

ABOUT:

Our most experienced trainer, JTR started training 25 years (and kg) ago. He particularly enjoys helping people looking to build muscle, especially if they feel out of place at the gym like he used to. He has a deep and well-rounded knowledge of exercise and can adapt training for most individuals.

  • Intro to strength training with full progressions
  • Advanced core training
PROGRAMMING:

JTR offers a range of programming that covers weight training for beginners, through to advanced training. He has experience working with people recovering from injury and has a knack for finding little tweaks that target muscles more effectively.
