COVID-19 -  UniRec Frequently Asked Questions

UniRec at Alert Level 1:

  • Always bring a towel to your workout
  • Make sure to swipe your tag at reception - this assists our contact tracing
  • Use cleaning wipes provided to clean equipment
  • Practice good cough etiquette by coughing into bent elbow, disposing of any tissues into rubbish bin and washing hands

UniRec at 'Delta' Alert Level 2: 
(in addition to practices at Level 1)

  • Masks are required to be worn at all times outside of exercise - this includes entering the building, moving between rooms, using changing facilities and when leaving.
  • Bookings are required to use all gym facilities (weights room, cardio zones, HP room etc..) which can be made online using your UR account and at reception. Bookings can be made for up to one hour within each space.
  • NZ Covid Tracer QR scanning is required as you enter building
  • Bring a drink bottle as fans and drinking fountains will not be in use
  • Endless Pools are closed
  • No EC consultations
  • Keep a 2 metre physical distance from others
  • All group exercise classes requires booking
  • REV classes and the Endless Pools are unavailable

UniRec at Alert Level 3 and 4:

At these levels UniRec will be closed under Covid Alert Level protocols.

IF ANYONE IN MY FAMILY IS UNWELL AND EXPERIENCING FLU-SYMPTOMS, SHOULD I COME TO THE GYM?

If you are feeling unwell, please stay home. If you have any concerns around COVID-19 please ring your General Practice/Doctor or Healthline on 0800 358 5453.

WHAT IS UNIREC DOING TO KEEP ITS FACILITY AND SURFACES HEALTHY AND HYGIENIC?

We have increased cleaning around the gym including equipment and on surfaces such as door handles and general contact areas.

HOW DO I KEEP MYSELF SAFE UPON ENTRY?

  • sanitise your hands at the sanitise station upon entry
  • swipe your member tag- this assists with our contact tracing process
  • bring a clean sweat towel to the gym or hire/purchase a towel at reception

USING EQUIPMENT?

  • using the cleaning wipes provided, wipe equipment before and after use
  • avoid hand contact with your eyes, mouth and face
  • wash your hands with soap and water and dry well with your own towel or disposable towels
  • practice good cough etiquette by coughing into bent elbow, disposing of any tissues into rubbish bin and washing hands

GROUP CLASSES?

  • using the cleaning wipes provided, wipe equipment before and after use
  • sanitise your hands on entry to the room (sanitiser provided)
  • avoid hand contact with your eyes, mouth and face
  • use your sweat towel to wipe any sweat off floor

GENERAL CENTRE CLEANING?

Our staff will continue to work hard to make sure that we are meeting hygiene standards.
