Meet our instructors

Sally

A vastly experienced group exercise instructor, Sally has delivered classes ranging from Indoor Cycling to Pilates. When she's not teaching group exercise, Sally can be found competing both nationally and internationally at triathlon, having represented the UK as an age group racer at the World Championships! Sally's qualifications include: Yoga teacher (200 hours in integrated yoga) - RYS 200 Yoga Alliance, NZQA Skills Active Fitness (Group Fitness Level 3), Netfit Pilates, Les Mills Pump Advanced Instructor and Less Mill RPM Instructor.


Kasha

Specialising in mind-body, Kasha has over 20 years experience in the fitness industry and is highly qualified in both yoga and pilates. After discovering yoga herself whilst dealing with the stress of University study, Kasha now shares with others the physical and mental benefits of yoga. Her classes always include awareness of breath, alignment, mindfulness and fun. Kasha's qualifications include: Ashram Yoga (NZ, L3 500hr), Flow-Yoga (USA, Advanced), Peak Pilates Instructor (USA, PPSIII), Pilates Institute (UK Matwork) and Network Fitness Leader.


Allison

Hailing from Canada, Alli has been practicing yoga for almost 20 years and teaching since receiving her 200hr in 2011. Studying with advanced teachers in both Canada (Meghan Currie, Eoin Finn) and the UK (Mark Kan) opened her eyes to the benefits of dedicated practice. Recently, Alli completed her Masters in Applied Positive Psychology in London where she delivered online Positive Mindfulness training. She is currently studying her PhD at Waikato where she is investigating the lived experiences of yogis. Her classes are powerful and give students the opportunity to push their boundaries within a fun, supportive, alignment-focused class.


Javier

Alongside our fantastic Group Exercise  classes, UniRec Yoga classes are a great way to relieve the day's stress.

Javier is currently completing his PhD in yoga, and brings you a yoga class focusing on breathing, flexibility and strengthening your muscles. This class is suitable for all abilities. All equipment is provided - just remember to wear clothing that won't restrict your movement.

Our weekly yoga classes focus on breathing, flexibility and strengthening your muscles. Taught by qualified instructors, they’re suitable for all abilities. All equipment is provided - just remember to wear clothing that won't restrict your movement.

Pricing

Our weekly Yoga classes are free for UniRec members to attend. For non-members, casual rates apply.

Note: A maximum of 25 participants per class applies, with classes operating on a first come, first served basis. There are no Yoga classes on public holidays.


Booking process

Book your spot ONLINE, over the phone or at reception (either on the new UR Self-Service Kiosk or ask one of our friendly staff.

Members and concession card holders can book a spot in a yoga class up to 7 days before the class.

Casual entry can book up to 2 hours before a class – these can only be done in person.
