It’s no myth that people tend to feel tired, sluggish and unmotivated during winter. This is due to the lack of sunlight (which brings with it Vitamin D), which disrupts our sleep and waking cycles. It can also cause what is known as SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) which can affect our moods!
Try these tips:
- Get outdoors in natural daylight as much as possible.
- Get a good night's sleep – go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.
- Take some magnesium tables – these help to relax muscles, helps you to unwind after a long day and helps you to get a good night sleep.
- De-stress, re-focus and re-energize with exercise or meditation – stress has been shown to make you feel tired. We offer Take a Breath sessions on a Wednesday at 1-1.30pm, which are designed to help you relax and re-focus. Have a go at one of our group exercise or yoga classes as well! These help you get moving and feel energized with the help of an educated instructor!
